Real status of cyber fraud and how serious is Indian Government?

cyber fraud

Indian government bodies like RBI, NPCI, Police, Cyber Police and Banks are committed to provide solutions to customers who are victims of cyber fraud. But in reality, the situation is quite different and no one looks serious to counter this type of online fraud as they all are busy in internal politics and indirectly giving edge to more cyber frauds in cities, town, and village areas.

There commitments to fight with cyber frauds are quite solid in paper, but in real world situation these government bodies or private players don’t care about the online scams and hence the scammers do scam each and every day using the social media platforms.

Who Involved in Cyber Fraud Online Scams?

If you dive in this and investigate cyber fraud which many people do in different way, you will find out there are multiple bodies (public and private sector players) involved in these types of eCommerce fraud and they all are looting customers day by day. These known bodies are:

  • Domain Providers like Godaddy, BigRock
  • Hosting Platform Like Hostinger
  • Social Media Platforms Like Facebook & Instagram
  • Logistics Like iThinkLogistics
  • Government Bodies Like Cyber Police, NPCI, and Bank

Website Domain Provider

In this type of cyber fraud, the above mentioned platforms are involved as they are not even 1% serious to stop it. And it all begins with a brand like domain name which they buy from a domain provider.

Hosting Provider

A common website which we found is https://www.libascollection.shop/, this is a fake and fraud online clothing website and it is running successfully on the Hostinger hosting platform and I’m curious how it on this platform… Didn’t the hosting team verify the owner address via an ID card? If something is fishy, this website should be takedown at this level, but no action yet taken!

Social Media Platforms (Facebook & Instagram)

This doesn’t end here, once the website is ready they launch the ad campaigns on social platforms like Facebook or Instagram. There they show premium quality products at low prices and this low price but premium quality thing gets a big attention and users become a victim of online scam very easily.

My question to these social platforms… are you clowns? Don’t you verify the ads or website they targeting? Don’t you check the contact page, GST number, and address?

How can you approve these types of fishing or fake ads on your platform?

You have such a big team to investigate the ads from inside outside but still you don’t care what could be the negative impact of these ads on other people’s life. With the help of your ads, they cheat customers and steal their hard earned money in seconds and this is happening day by day at bigger scale!

Courier Provider and Logistics

Next in this list logistics providers come and they are the leading cause of online scams. One logistic provider that we found is iThinkLogistics and they deliver in Delhi, Mumbai and in other big cities and scam people.

They deliver fake packages on which no information is given like where the package is sent from, GST number, seller contact, seller address etc. The package only contains the customer’s name and the rest of the details are either missing or fake or dummy.

The delivery partner delivers your package, take your money and in few minutes you find that product is fake, you have been scammed, and now if you fight to get your money back nothing happens!

In short, scammers do scams… they cheat customers and in return if a customer complain to Government bodies like Cyber Police, Banks, NPCI they call the customers an idiot and you get nothing!

Government and Related Bodies

Government bodies websites are paralyzed… if someone wants to complain then these sites never work and if they work then no acknowledge is send on email. Means how a person suppose to track the request? There websites just highlight your request is submitted and what about reference number  or service request number? I mean, there is no acknowledge number given upon submission, so how we can track our request, we don’t have super powers to track requests.

In short, these government websites or portals are just baseless as you can’t get any solutions even if try all day or night. It is best to display these types of websites in a digital museum as a symbol of pride that this is how we used to waste taxpayers money when cyber crime was at its peak.

On the other hands the Banks are very lazy… though they recommend report about a online scam within in 24 hours. But in actual.. they give you a lollypop and take around 35-37 days to give the final verdict on the fraud transaction. If you are in hope you will get your money back after such a long time, then you have very wrong expectations…!

The 35-37 days investigation time, don’t you think it it quite quick? Someone’s money has been stolen, and even though the customer has provided solid proof with images, the bank still needs a long time to solve the issue. And there’s no guarantee the money will be returned.

I mean what is the logic of the bank… you have the power to reverse a transaction yet you are investigating fraud and are unable to refund anybody’s money. The fraudster is active, day after day receiving money in the same account or UPI but you cannot take action, you cannot seize their account and you cannot contact them and you cannot find out about the scam. Being so powerful, if you cannot do this then how can a common man fight these scammers now.

Last.. they cyber police, due to lack of resources and too many cases they can’t even track some of the big online theft cases. And if you think they will give priority to your Rs 2000 case… no way they won’t touch your case and like others your case file will catch dust in corner and in the end case will be closed.

Final Words

Overall, the Indian government bodies are not that serious about online fraud and you can guess this from the fact that the number of fraud cases has increased significantly than before.

If there is some VIP or high level case, then surely the cyber police, local police, RBI, NPCI, Bank or any other related public or private company work together but for common users nothing is going to happen.

You have been duped by a fraudster because some so-called popular platforms like Facebook or Instagram showed attractive ads on your timeline without verification and you ordered some items.

Next the couriers providers are biggest cheaters as they delivered the courier to customer where no GST number, Seller address, and mobile number mentioned.

Overall in these kinds of cyber frauds… there is no single party, there are more that one parties and they do it in very professional way and scam people on daily basis in various cities or town.

And if you seek help from well established government bodies.. you get only BABA ka Thulu. Because these government bodies are just their to lick the boots of rich people and politicians.. they don’t care about common public and last there websites are useless where you not even get acknowledgment.

So at ground, Indian government is not serious about to curb online frauds. Plenty of fake websites are still running and scamming people day by day, but they are unable to take any action.

Being such a powerful public body, you should investigate such fraudulent websites at your level. This means don’t wait for someone to complain… investigate things at your level and take strict action otherwise these cyber fraud cases will not end and billions of money will be wasted.
