Your old phone is okay, and you have been thinking of buying a new phone through an exchange offer. But e-commerce platforms like Flipkart and Amazon do not offer the best value. In this case, you can list your used phone on another website, sell it directly for cash, and get the best price.
I have often noticed that popular websites like Flipkart and Amazon do not give the best value for your phone. In my case, I tried to exchange a Samsung Galaxy M31, and Flipkart offered just ₹1950. I also checked the price for a Realme Narzo N53, and the platform offered me ₹3150. The exchange price was too low, so I discussed it with a friend. He suggested that if I wanted to sell my existing phone, it would be better to sell it through alternate channels, online or offline, to get the best price.
Based on my research and experience, I have curated a list of the 5 best platforms in India where you can sell your existing phone and get the best value. So, let’s look at all of them one by one below!
#1. OLX
OLX is the most popular website to sell your household or personal items. Its UI is quite familiar and simple to use, and therefore many people in India use it to sell old phones for cash. You can list your phone online and set the location where you want to sell it. Once the ad is approved, you can start receiving messages and, by finalizing the deal, sell your phone at your desired price and get better value.
I have used this platform many times and, based on my personal experience, I can say that you can sell your product for twice the price offered by Flipkart or Amazon. Recently, I sold my 3-year-old Amazon Fire TV Stick for ₹1700. I listed it at ₹2200 but finally closed the deal at ₹1700.
#2. Cashify
Like the second-hand car market, the second-hand phone market is quite popular in India. Those who cannot buy brand-new phones often look for used ones, as they are affordable and offer all the features. Cashify is a popular platform where you can list your phone and sell it quickly.
In short, Cashify buys your phone and sells it later. This platform operates similarly to Cars24: they inspect your product based on a checklist, provide a quote, and, if you agree, transfer the money to your bank account. After that, Cashify sells your product as a refurbished phone, keeping a profit margin.
So, even if your existing phone’s screen is damaged, the speaker is not working, or the power button is faulty, you can simply list it on Cashify. Based on current market demand, you will get a fair value for your product, which will be better than Flipkart or Amazon.
#3. Sahi Value
Like Cashify, Sahi Value also works on the same business model. You can list your phone on Sahivalue.com, answer a few questions, and receive a quote within minutes. They also have offline stores (1 in Mumbai) where you can take your product and sell it directly in person for cash.
#4. Brand Website
Depending on your phone brand, you can sell your device through an exchange offer on the brand’s website and get the best value. If you own a Samsung phone and are looking to buy a new Samsung device, selling your old phone on the brand’s website is the best and smartest choice. Brands often pay more for their own products.
Recently, I was thinking of upgrading my OnePlus 10R to a 13R. I was getting an exchange benefit of around ₹7500 on Flipkart, while on the OnePlus official website, I was offered an exchange value of around ₹13,500 plus a loyalty discount. Similarly, if you check MI.com for Mi or Redmi phones, you get better deals.
In case, if you would like to buy iPhone 17 and you also own an iPhone – like 14, 15 or 16, then in that case you can trade-in your old iPhone on Apple.com and get best exchange value. Even on Apple.com… you can exchange your Android phone like Samsung S23, S24 or OnePlus devices! So always… make sure to check the brand website and get best exchange value on your product.
#5. Local Mobile Shops
Finally, nothing is better than a local shop. If you know a vendor in your city who deals in old mobiles (buying and selling), you can get a quote from them. Local mobile shops also offer better deals than online platforms.
A decade ago, many people used to sell their old phones at these local shops. Even if you have a keypad phone from brands like Nokia, Samsung, LG, Motorola, or Lava, you can still get ₹600–800. In the case of smartphones, you can get an even better deal. I recently sold my old LG Q6 smartphone for ₹2150.
These are the platforms where you can sell your existing phone and get cash instantly. My personal recommendation is to use OLX to sell your device because, first, it is a trusted platform, and second, the deal is between you and the buyer. There is no middleman, so there is no confusion about commission or miscommunication.
What’s your take on this? Which platform have you used to sell an old phone? Did we miss anything? Please let us know in the comments below (share your feedback), and don’t forget to share this with others on social media platforms!
