Realme again played the smart card by launching P4x 5G – the “affordable luxury” that only shines on paper! Realme promised a lot for this smartphone in ads but the ground reality is totally different which no one will tell you!
Today I brought a new “phone review” for you named Realme P4x 5G. The company claims it’s “the king of performance and battery!” Some influencer on YouTube promoted it as “budget beast.” But is it really a “king” or a “gimmick”? Let’s start with the specifications, then unravel all its “cartoons.”
Realme P4x 5G Specifications
The processor is the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra 5G (4nm), the RAM is LPDDR4X, and the storage is UFS 3.1. The display is a 6.72-inch IPS LCD, boasting a 144Hz refresh rate. The camera setup is a 50MP + 2MP camera, and the selfie camera is an 8MP camera. Its biggest weapon is a 7000mAh battery with 45W charging, and as per my own test you can charge it from 0-100% in around 90 minutes. Another big plus is that it comes with VC Frostcore cooling segment that keeps the phone cool for longer time, means you can use it to play games too!
Apart from that it runs on Android 15 and Realme UI 6.0, along with an IP64 rating and stereo speakers. There are three color options: Matte Silver, Elegant Pink, and Lake Green and weight is around 208 grams!
Variants and pricing of Realme P4X are:
- 6GB RAM + 128GB storage: ₹15,999
- 8GB RAM + 128GB storage: ₹17,499
- 8GB RAM + 256GB storage: ₹19,499
The price of this phone looks very reasonable, right? But wait… now listen to the “ground reality,” which is nowhere to be seen in the advertisements or paperwork. Here’s my take on P4X 5G!
Critical part – Why is this phone a ‘fake royal’?
A ‘Garbage House’ of Software: Realme UI 6.0 is completely half-baked! It’s filled with unnecessary pre-installed apps (bloatware) like Facebook, Netflix, and Snapchat, which are difficult to remove. The UI lags, and animations stutter. One user rightly said, “There’s no such thing as consistency in the UI. It just keeps lagging!”
144Hz Refresh Rate? Just a Show!: Is it enough to write a 144Hz number on paper? In reality, this phone rarely runs at 144Hz (Inconsistent Refresh Rate). Most of the UI remains at 120Hz, and games are capped at 90Hz. This means this ‘feature’ is just for advertising, not for your use. Even on Realme official page P4X page it is mentioned the BGMI peak FPS is 90FPS!
Camera – 50MP in name, zero in use!: Don’t be fooled by the 50MP camera. Photos are fine in daylight, but it’s a complete failure in the low light condition! Photos are noisy, underexposed, and sometimes have a green tint. The lack of an ultra-wide lens is a drawback. The selfie camera is the same old 8MP failure. One review rightly said, “It lags behind even cheaper Infinix phones.”
The truth about the 7000mAh battery: The battery backup is good, lasting 1.5-2 days. However, the claimed 45W “Ultra Charge” takes over 90 minutes to charge! For such a large battery, 45W is considered “slow charging” in today’s times. Realme should offer better charger 60W or 80W.
Missing essential features: Despite paying this much, you don’t get NFC (meaning no contactless payments for UPI) or a 3.5mm headphone jack. The display is IPS LCD, not AMOLED. This means dark blacks aren’t deep and colors aren’t vibrant. The phone weighs 208 grams and is 8.4mm thick, making it feel bulky to hold.
Conclusion – Final Advice
So friends, the Realme P4x 5G is a phone that appears to be a king on the spec sheet, but is nothing more than a mediocre soldier when it comes to user experience. If battery life and budget are your priority, the basic 6GB + 128GB variant (₹15,999) alone might be a minor excuse. You can even play battlefiled games on this base variant as it comes with cooling unit. Paying for variants above that isn’t wise at all. For that price, you can find more balanced and clean software options from brands like Motorola, Samsung, or even Nothing.
Remember, these days, the “numbers game” doesn’t work. The key is the “experience.” And this phone is a big failure in that regard. So be smart, don’t be fooled. Because your money is valuable, and you’re smart!
